Achievements Guide

WheelMates ships with 21 Steam achievements. That number is the whole public list this wiki will print. Firevolt has not asked us to mirror a spoiler table of names, and we will not invent titles, hidden descriptions, or unlock percents to look complete. If a third-party tracker already shows icons, use Steam’s overlay as the authority. If a blog lists 21 poetic trophy names it cannot source, ignore it. This page is about how the 21 sit on top of a two-player house: how long they take, why you cannot farm them alone, and which wiki guides actually help.

Firevolt’s own length estimate is the completion clock. About 6 hours if you follow the story. About 8 hours if you explore, grab secrets, and finish mini-games and extra content. The extra pair of hours is not a New Game Plus. It is hidden rooms, Journal scans, cosmetics in the walls, and the gadgets that reopen a kitchen you already “finished.” If you care about 21/21, you are on the eight-hour path by definition.

You cannot 100 percent this game solo

WheelMates is mandatory two-player co-op. There is no solo campaign, no AI partner, and no “achievement practice” sandbox. Puzzles assume two cars. Story beats assume two cars. Hidden rooms that need one driver on a switch and one on a ceiling assume two cars. A 4090 does not add a one-player trophy route. Friend’s Pass only waives a second purchase. When the guest hangs up, the house is not a single-player completion tool.

Keep one host if you care about one library seeing the full set. Steam unlocks attach to accounts in ways this wiki will not guess at for Friend’s Pass guests. Confirm in your own overlay which profile ticks. Do not assume a guest with an empty library will show 21/21 after a borrowed night. The owner’s save is the completion save. Setup for that session lives on co-op setup. Partner rules live on Friend’s Pass.

There is no in-game voice. Discord or the couch is part of the achievement kit, not a social extra. Two-station machines and hold-hazard paths will stall if you are typing instead of talking. That is a completion problem, not a flavor complaint.

Six hours, eight hours, and what the 21 are for

Think of the list as a layer on the campaign, not a second campaign.

Story-shaped unlocks. A pair that only drives the HUD to the next radio can finish in about six hours and still have seen Professor Bloom’s plot, the gadget spine, and the main rooms. Some of the 21 will fire on those beats. We will not name them. If you skip every optional scan, you should still expect story ticks. You should not expect the full 21.

Hunt-shaped unlocks. The other slice wants you to look up. Hidden rooms, customization parts (wheels, antenna, horn), Journal nodes, memory cards, and mini-games sit in Firevolt’s eight-hour estimate. The method for that hunt is the secrets page. The grammar of the house — HUD in the top-right, Journal for scraps, radios as hint devices — is the walkthrough. Gadgets are the keyring: magnetic wheels, rope swing, magnet grab. When you earn one, turn around. A locked achievement is often a shelf you already visited without the tool.

What we will not claim. We will not publish a fake order. We will not guess which of the 21 is hidden. We will not attach global percents from an empty tracker. Launch week is too early for a community spreadsheet to be gospel, and inventing one here would poison the Kitchen and Garage guides. Play the rooms. Let Steam pop the toast.

Journal, secrets, and a sane sweep

The Journal arrived in the 15 June 2026 Next Fest demo. It stores narrative pieces and collectible tracking so you can keep driving and still reconstruct Bloom’s mess later. Scan what the game lets you scan. Drive past nothing that highlights. Cards in the demo were easy to skip because nothing explodes when you ignore them. If an achievement cares about “you looked,” the Journal is how you prove you looked. Details belong in the walkthrough and secrets articles, not in a trophy list with made-up names.

A practical sweep for a pair that wants 21/21 without a spoiler spreadsheet:

  1. Play the story at human speed. About six hours. Do not rush radios. Read the top-right objective when it changes.
  2. After each gadget, backtrack through rooms you understand. The Metroidvania loop is the achievement loop.
  3. Split roles on purpose. One car hunts high with wheels or rope. The other hunts covers and floor gaps with grab.
  4. Fill the Journal after sessions, not during a two-station puzzle.
  5. Spend the extra two hours on secrets and mini-games. That is Firevolt’s eight-hour line, not a speedrun calendar.
  6. Stop if you are no longer talking. A silent completion night fails two-car tasks even when both of you are “trying.”

Mini-games exist so you can settle who is the better driver. Count them in the eight-hour estimate. They are not a ranked season and they are not a reason to treat every shelf as a time trial. There are no puzzle timers.

DLC will not finish the 21 for you

Studio Q&A said DLC is planned after launch. There is no date and no name. This wiki will not invent a season pass, a trophy DLC, or a solo-mode pack. Completing the 21 is a job in the 1 September 2026 Steam build. Do not wait on an unnamed add-on to pop a list that already exists. When Firevolt actually ships extra content, update this paragraph; until then, the honest sentence is: planned, undated, unnamed.

Cosmetics from the Supporter Pack are a store extra, not a house drop and not an achievement shortcut. Base color is chosen at the start; other pieces hide in furniture. Finding a horn in a duct is campaign completion. Buying a bundled car body is shopping.

How this page sits next to the rest of the wiki

Use Getting Started if you still need a partner. Use the walkthrough if you need the house’s language. Use secrets if you are in the extra two hours. Come back here only when someone asks “how many achievements?” or “can I 100 percent this alone?” The answers are 21, and no.

Official store bullets are the source for the count. This page copies the count so it sits next to the six-hour / eight-hour clock and the no-solo rule. When Steam adds a 22nd unlock, change the number. Until then, do not pad the list with fan names.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for two-player RC sessions.

How many Steam achievements does WheelMates have?

21. This wiki will not invent names, hidden descriptions, or unlock percents for that list.

Can I 100 percent WheelMates solo?

No. The design is mandatory two-player co-op. Friend's Pass only removes a second purchase. See co-op setup.

How long do the achievements take?

Firevolt estimates about 6 hours for the story and about 8 hours if you hunt secrets, Journal pieces, and mini-games. Full 21/21 sits on the longer path.

Where should we look if we are missing unlocks?

Backtrack with new gadgets, fill the Journal, and use the secrets method plus the walkthrough. Do not grind a fake named list.

Does a Friend's Pass guest keep the 21?

Do not assume that. Keep one owner host if you care about one Steam library. Confirm which overlay ticks on your own accounts.

Will DLC add more achievements?

DLC is planned post-launch with no date and no name. Completing the current 21 is a launch-game job, not a wait for an unnamed pack.
